About This Video

This video is my real-world, seven-day impressions review of the SIGMA BF, shot across my hometown in China—a place I hadn’t been back to in almost 20 years. I didn’t want to do the usual spec sheet rundown, so I took it straight into busy streets, harsh sun, heat, and mixed lighting to see what it’s actually like to live with. I cover the user experience, the menu system, battery life, ergonomics, and what it feels like to shoot street and travel with a camera that’s as minimal as this. The SIGMA BF is genuinely beautiful—clean lines, quiet luxury vibes, and details that make it feel like a work of art. Once I got used to the UI, it became pretty intuitive and even a bit liberating because I wasn’t buried in endless options. But there are real drawbacks: battery life drops fast, the screen can be brutal in direct sun, the sharp edges and one-strap-point design aren’t comfortable, and the all-metal body gets warm when you’re shooting and charging. The biggest deal-breaker for me is the fully electronic shutter—warping with fast movement and banding under certain artificial lights just isn’t fun. In the end, I can enjoy it as a tool, but I wouldn’t personally buy it unless you’re prioritizing aesthetics over function.
