Cuties! In this video I’m testing out the Overtone Daily Conditioner in Vibrant Purple, and I purposely let my hair get a little washed out first so you can really see how the color soaks in. Since my hair was lighter going into it, it’s easier to tell what the conditioner is actually doing—especially if you’re trying to refresh your purple without committing to a full dye day. I also talk about how my hair has a few different shades in it already, and that’s not the Overtone—my hairdresser and I chose that multi-shade look, so it can show up differently depending on how faded my color is. I also get into the idea of diluting colors to match your own shade and keeping things looking like “you,” not like you’re wearing a totally different color than what you started with. The whole goal is maintaining your color in a way that makes sense for your hair right now—whether it’s more faded, more vibrant, or a little uneven because of your existing dye job.
