Tab Time: I Need a Little Space | Teaching Kids About Personal Space, Boundaries, & Consent

Ms. Tab (Tabitha Brown) finds Avi the Avocado in a tree after green beans invaded his personal space and made him feel uncomfortable. After asking the green beans nicely if she can move them, Ms. Tab starts thinking about how we can let others know when we need space. On a Special Adventure, Ms. Tab and Lenny the Lightning Bug explore Bubble City where everyone has bubbles around them that expand and contract to show others how much room they need. Later, a silly alien named Spacey Casey (Chelsea Peretti) visits Ms. Tab’s Lab to explore how personal space works on other planets. However, Spacey Casey’s customs are a little different than what we’re used to here on Earth. At Craft Time, Ms. Tab and DJ Khrafty make “Hi” Charts to show others how we want to use our bodies to say hello. Then at Snack Time, Burnie the Oven Mitt and Starla the Spatula disagree on whether or not foods should touch on a plate, so Ms. Tab makes a Pick N’ Chews snack pack where you can keep your favorite yummy foods separate or mix them up however you like!
