Our mission is to teach all companies to be media companies, so we’ve been touting the power of developing your own e-mail list and audience without having to leverage other media companies’ exposure for quite a while, but people are finally starting to get it! So, in 2021 expect to see companies focus more on growing and nurturing their own lists. People already know they need a registration form on their website, and they understand that they need to get all necessary compliance, but now they need to keep those registrants engaged. It’s about turning one-time buyers into five-time buyers. It’s about creating so much value that people are happy to register and give up the information required. 2021 will be the year companies fully embrace creating a variety of registration events beyond the simple newsletter pop-up or white paper download. It will also be the year that entrepreneurs and social influencers with large social followings work on converting those large followings into e-mail subscribers. It’s time to harvest all channels and create new and unique assets for each channel.
