The Tridacna clam is a milestone for many reefers. A sign you have moved from beginner into the intermediate stage of the hobby. One of the most feared moments is seeing the clam’s normally open mantle suddenly pull in tight. Over the next few days, the pinching spreads, part by part, while the hobbyist watches helplessly. Not anymore. There is a well known treatment using a freshwater dip for a short, controlled period to address this condition. In this video, I put it to the test and document the entire process.
