In this video I’m taking a hard look at the brand new Milwaukee Gen 3 M12 Fuel ratchets and then doing what matters most—putting them to work in real-world automotive repairs. Milwaukee sent these out for me to test, and like always, I’m not just doing a clean unboxing. I’m taking them straight into the shop, getting them oily, and using them on actual jobs so you can see how they perform where a tech really needs them. One of the big changes with these Gen 3 ratchets is you don’t have to pick between high speed or high torque like you did in the past. Milwaukee figured out a way to get the best of both worlds, and you can feel it when you’re ripping bolts out and then easing fasteners back in with control. The variable speed trigger is still one of my favorite features because it lets me sneak up on torque during reassembly so I’m not over-tightening anything. Between the compact head getting into tight spots, the work light shining right on the fastener, and the power to break stubborn bolts loose, these ratchets are a serious improvement for both DIYers and pro techs.
