About This Video

In this video, I’m walking you through my Valentine’s Day plan & prep routine with three simple steps that keep me from overbuying and help my decor feel intentional. I don’t start decorating until the last week of January because I really like to enjoy the winter vibes first. Before I shop for anything new, I crack open my Valentine bins because I’m the kind of person who needs to physically touch and see what I own (and yes, I can admit I’m a shopping addict when it comes to holiday decor). I also recommend snapping a couple photos of what you have so you can cross-reference while you’re out shopping and keep everything cohesive. After I inventory my decor, I head to Pinterest—my number one place for inspiration—because I’m not searching for exact pieces, I’m searching for a feeling: cozy, romantic, and still winter-inspired. From there, I pick a theme and fully embrace it. This year my theme is “winter romance,” focusing on textures, florals, vintage details, and a little shabby chic—think girly, romantic, boho rustic with farmhouse touches. I’m keeping some Christmas greenery up so my big Valentine tree doesn’t feel like it’s standing alone, and I’m leaning into soft baby pinks with a few pops of red (so it doesn’t read as Christmas). I also share a few craft ideas I’m excited about, like jute hearts and decoupaged ornaments for my Valentine tree.
