In this second episode of the hanging tool chest series, see how the curved light valence is attached using a stopped miter. This is an uncommon woodworking joint, but it is essential in this cabinet to disguise the joint between the light valence and the side of the cabinet. The challenge with cutting a stopped miter for this cabinet is that each side of the cabinet needs a miter cut into it. A table saw is the best tool for the job, but it only bevels (cuts on an angle) in one direction. To overcome this challenge, Scott builds a miter sled so it can be used on either side of the saw blade with the table saw fence. The miter saw is used to cut the ends of the light valence to length. See how this hanging tool chest progresses before moving on to working on the curved drawer dividers and the curved drawers.
