There are trees around our Victorian home that are posing a risk to the structures. We connected with three companies for quotes and to understand the work that needed to be done. We decided to hire Aussie Tree Care and this video shows how professionals carefully remove trees - you'll see their tools, machines, and techniques at work. @AussieTreeCare-sh9xb The biggest of four trees was only a few feet from the house. Steve Parfitt and his team setup their climbing equipment to carefully cut off the branches and lower them to the ground. When the top section of the tree was cut off with the chain saw, it was quite the sight to see! The two front spruce trees were problems too. One was almost touching the porch and the other was leaning towards the house. This concerned us because we had an ice storm that could have caused the tree to break, damaging the house. Steve used the bucket truck to remove most of the tree limbs before cutting and lowering sections of the trunk using ropes. We caught one of the tree trunks falling in slow motion to see how it bounced on the ground. All of the branches and trunk pieces went though the wood chipper and into the truck. It's surprising how the large trunks are chewed up so well... except for one piece. Reese cut it lengthwise with a long chainsaw so it would go through the chipper The last of the trees was a maple, right next to the garage, which had frost cracks in the trunk. Steve cut out a piece and showed how easily it came apart. I was so happy we decided to take that down to prevent damage to the garage. After all the trees were down, Mike used the stump grinder to remove the stumps below the surface of the soil. This is important as it keeps potential carpenter ant nests away from the house, where they could eventually move to. I talked with Steve about what to look for when hiring an arborist and he shared some tips. We're happy with how the whole process went and the professionalism of Aussie Tree Care. We will be using them again when we need more trees pruned or cut. We hope you enjoy this video. I had fun filming and editing it - let us know what you think by adding a comment.
