I'm hoping Halloween isn't cancelled this year because of COVID-19. I think we can still trick-or treat safely while social distancing, especially while giving out Halloween candy. I've created a fun trick-or-treat candy slide to safely keep you and the children in your neighbourhood safe while enjoying Halloween. Use the Halloween candy slide to drop the candy in the top, and watch it slide down the chute to the young trick-or-treaters. By having an open top on the slide, it's like a Hot Wheels track - the kids get to watch the candy as it shoots down the gutter, into their candy bag. . To make it more interesting, I've added some inexpensive color-changing LED lights, commonly called TikTok lights. Supplies to build the candy slide / chute: - Plastic gutter (10 foot long piece) - LED TikTok lights - https://amzn.to/3iuT3Dx (note: purchases made with this link help fund our video production work) - Wood for making the stand (one 2x4 for the base and one 2x2 for the upright posts) - 10 3-inch wood screws - 4 1/2-inch round-head screws - Black paint for painting the stand - Don't forget a supply of Halloween candy! I show some Canadian chocolates; Kit Kat, Coffee Crisp, and Smarties. Measurements: - Plastic gutter cut to 7 feel long - Base for bottom of stairs is made with a 12 inch and 6 inch piece of 2x4, and a 36 inch piece of 2x2 for the upright post - Base for top of the stairs is made with a 12 inch and two 6 inch pieces of 2x4, and a 36 inch piece of 2x2 Tools: - Hand saw (and a way to hold down the wood when cutting it) - Drill - 9/64 and 3/16 drill bits - Screwdriver or impact driver I hope you're inspired to build a Halloween candy slide for your home. This is a fun DIY project that can help keep you and your neighbourhood children safe this halloween when social distancing is important Our woodworking plans - https://woodenitbenice.ca/collections/woodworking-plans Our 1-on-1 woodworking advice sessions - https://woodenitbenice.ca/collections/woodworking-advice-sessions See the tools we use in our workshop and the tools we recommend: https://www.amazon.com/shop/homeimprovementwoodworking 🇨🇦 Canadian link - https://www.amazon.ca/shop/homeimprovementwoodworking For more woodworking knowledge or to contact us directly, visit our website https://WoodenItBeNice.ca Hosted by Scott Bennett, owner of Wooden It Be Nice in Brooklin, Ontario, Canada #halloween #covid-19 #socialdistance
