Hey babes, in this cozy little chat I’m sharing the exact things that helped me bounce back fast when the seasonal Sadies hit—especially living in Alaska where we’re literally getting like 4 hours of daylight. I have seasonal affective disorder, so I’m not being dramatic when I say winter can genuinely mess with my mood. This year I had one rough week and then I was able to move through it, and I really think it’s because I got intentional about a few simple habits. First, I got serious about supplements—vitamin D3 in particular (and yes, as a melanated girl, vitamin D deficiency is real). I also talk about cutting back on alcohol because alcohol is a depressant… and if you’re already depressed, why are we pouring gasoline on the fire? I share my favorite mocktail swaps that still give “cute cocktail vibe” without the next-day dip. Then we get into the real glow-up stuff: getting off your phone and into hands-on hobbies, practicing gratitude daily (I love the Five Minute Journal), staying connected to a higher power in a way that feels safe and peaceful, getting daily movement even when you don’t feel like it, and finally reorganizing + deep cleaning your space because it truly resets your brain.
