About This Video

In this live stream I’m back doing what we do—real mix and master feedback with the community, plus some nerd talk that actually matters when you’re trying to get loud without wrecking your record. Teezio and Prizzie pulled up with me, we dealt with the usual “we might have to restart the stream” energy, and then we jumped straight into what’s making mixes fall apart: low-end transients getting crushed, vocals popping forward when you push a limiter, and the stereo image shrinking the louder you try to go. We spent a good chunk breaking down why a transparent limiter at the very end of the chain is clutch when you need that extra dB without collapsing the kick/808 relationship. I talked about how most limiters start messing with low end first, which throws your balance off and makes the top feel louder by default. Then we got into actual member submissions—calling out harsh vocal top-end, missing midrange “glow,” claps fighting vocals in the 2k–4k zone, and hooks that don’t lift because the drum/bass foundation is getting clamped. The big takeaway: build the mix around the vocal and drums, and don’t let your loudness decisions make the record smaller.
