In this video I put the new ELEHEAR Beyond through a real-world test, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it shocked me for $399. I wore these for two full weeks at work at Costco (one of the noisiest places you can test hearing aids) and I never once had to take them out to hear better. That basically never happens with most over-the-counter hearing aids. Even though the Beyond is not programmable and you don’t take a hearing test or fit it to your audiogram, it still uses the NAL-NL2 fitting algorithm and the performance in noise is way better than I expected. I break down what changed from the Alpha Pro to the Beyond: improved “VoClear” AI processing, higher frequency range, tinnitus therapy in the app, a smaller charging case, and multiple dome styles (open, closed, and tulip). You also get dual microphones for directionality and noise reduction, AI feedback control (I cranked volume up with zero whistling), impulse noise reduction, Bluetooth 5.3 with solid hands-free calls, and even a translator/transcribe feature that’s honestly wild. I also keep it honest: they’re bulkier than the Alpha Pros, the case holds fewer charges, and streaming volume for podcasts/music wasn’t loud enough for me (calls were fine). But for the price, this is one of the best-value OTC hearing aids I’ve tested, and I’d absolutely consider it as a main set for some folks or a killer backup pair.
