In this quick, no-script update, I’m giving you the real-world status of the Rexton Reach at Costco—because a bunch of you have been asking, “Are the old issues fixed?” After fitting more and more Reach aids, I can finally say it clearly: people are loving them, and I’m not seeing the BiCore problems repeating themselves. The BiCore had a nasty pattern where programming would basically get erased/reset, and we also saw a lot of app weirdness where the aids looked disconnected in the app even though they were still connected in iPhone accessibility. With the Reach, I haven’t had a single issue reported back to me so far—no programming resets, no major app/Bluetooth complaints, and no returns at my Costco. I still fit a lot of Philips because they’re insanely reliable, but the Reach has been performing fantastic and I’ve been fitting more of them because of it. Sound-wise, I’m still impressed: the Reach is one of my favorites right now and, in my opinion, it’s one of the best-sounding hearing aids I’ve heard in a while. If you’re on the fence, Costco’s 6-month return window makes it a low-risk way to try them and see if they’re your fit.
