I finally got real Auracast streaming working directly to my hearing aids—and I can prove it. After months of hitting wall after wall (iPhone has no Auracast support, my Samsung S22 is too old, Pixel 8 “supports” it but can’t actually scan yet), I found a setup that works right now: a FlooGoo FMA120 USB transmitter + the right software + the right firmware updates. Once it’s dialed in, my Windows 11 PC audio broadcasts like an “audio Wi‑Fi signal,” and anyone nearby with compatible Auracast hearing aids can connect. In this video I walk you through the exact settings in Flucast (broadcast + LE audio preference + public broadcast), how to update the dongle firmware to 1.1.1.7 (deal-breaker if you don’t), and why your hearing aid firmware needs to be current too. I demo it live with my Jabra Enhance Pro 20s, and I even show the workaround: using the ReSound 3D app to “Find a broadcast” because the Jabra app doesn’t give me that option yet (which is ridiculous). I also show a second mode—direct/high quality connection—so you can use your hearing aid microphones for Teams/Zoom on a PC. No proprietary $300 streamer boxes, no locked-down accessories… this is a massive first step, and I’m pushing next for TV and church installs.
