About This Video

Didn’t we just do this with Valentine’s Day? It’s not even March and my feed is already flooded with St. Patrick’s Day “restocks” — aka a new excuse to buy green junk, swap out perfectly fine items, and pretend it’s “seasonal fun.” In this video I break down how every minor holiday is getting monetized into a shopping event: green paper towels, green snack drawers, green toilet paper (yes, really), and endless decanting into more plastic containers for no reason other than content and affiliate links. I react to the snack-cart trend (especially the “delivery driver” versions) and explain the bigger money trap: this stuff keeps you in a constant cycle of spending, waste, and dopamine shopping. I also call out how it’s not just the influencers—there are thousands of people copying them, going into debt trying to look like they’re “that girl,” and then the audience normalizes it and follows along. The takeaway is simple: organization is fine, but hyper-organization that requires buying new containers, themed minis, and swapping everything monthly is just draining your bank account. These videos look harmless and glittery, but they’re rewiring people to spend more—and that’s exactly the point.
