About This Video

In this video I’m calling out the kitchen “restock” trend for what it really is: a satisfying-looking cycle of overspending that keeps people broke. The perfectly organized fridges, matching containers, and 15-step decanting routines aren’t about “getting your life together” anymore—they’re about buying more stuff, more often. I break down the gimmicky gadgets (like hanging yogurt cups on the side of the fridge), the absurd waste (like the milk jar situation), and why taking everything out of perfectly fine packaging is usually counterproductive. I also talk about the money side: a lot of this is a facade funded by credit cards, affiliate links, and rage bait. You’ll notice it’s always name brand, always single-serve, always convenience—because that’s how your grocery bill quietly doubles. I explain why extreme container-organization can actually reduce usable fridge space, push you into buying smaller packs to “fit the aesthetic,” and even cause more food waste (especially when people open vacuum-sealed meats early and basically start the spoilage clock). The only “restock” I genuinely respect is the one with real utility—meal prep, leftovers, homesteading, and using jars to reduce waste.
