Then I get into the bigger scam: subscriptions for features that used to just come with the car (remote start, anyone?), and how manufacturers benefit when your car is “designed to fail” right after warranty. I also talk about the ridiculous engineering choices—plastic coolant control valves buried under everything, soy-based wiring insulation that rodents literally eat, and how all this “efficiency” and “going green” conveniently becomes your problem when it breaks. The takeaway is simple: stop shopping by monthly payment, stop upgrading like it’s a phone, and stop letting car companies rent you your own vehicle.
