How The “Commute to Work” Keeps You Poor

I think the commute to work doesn't get talked about enough... I think there are so many expenses associated with commuting or driving to work and people don't factor them into their salary. I have heard countless stories of people switching jobs for more pay but the job is two or three times further than their previous job. People don't realize it would cost them more in the long run or even potentially losing money to do that. Just because you are getting paid a higher number doesn't mean its worth it. People will buy new cars and get car payments to commute to work. They will get 6 or 8 cylinder cars to commute which is insane. People are literally going broke or staying poor because of their commute to work and most of the time they have no idea... And thats not even factoring in your time spent commuting. Time is money... You can always get your money back but you can't get your time back. Having a 3 or 4 hour commute reduces your time spent to be doing other things and saving money. Now you have no time to cook at home, to grocery shop, to do your laundry yourself, to pack a breakfast or lunch, to pick up your children. Now it all has to be outsourced which means you are paying even more money to commute to work....
