I ain’t gonna lie—getting a new plugin always hit different, like Christmas, and ultraSPHERE really did that for me. In this video I break down Sample Logic’s ultraSPHERE from top to bottom and show y’all why, in my opinion, it’s like Omnisphere with a twist… and honestly a step ahead because of how much control you get and how easy it is to use. I show you the preset browser, the randomizer, and how you can tag-search sounds the same way you’d expect, then instantly flip through ideas until something sparks. The big sauce is how ultraSPHERE lets you shape a preset using four independent “cores” (sources). I show how to solo each source, find what’s sticking out (like a bell), then turn it down, swap it, or completely replace it without killing the whole vibe. I also go into the Humanize button—adding variations like velocity, pitch, sample start, stereo width, and random modulation so your parts don’t sound like a static loop. Then I show the emphasis circle (and different shapes) that lets you “focus” the sound on different cores, plus the sequencer/ARP and master effects section. By the end, you’ll know how I’m approaching this VST for cookups and why I’m excited to make a full beat with it next.
