About This Video

Yo what’s good with y’all boys—this video is all about how I’m making melodies in FL Studio 24 using Lemonaide (the AI melody generator) on top of a chord progression I already made in the previous video. If you didn’t peep that first one, I used FL Studio’s chord progression tool to get a smooth D minor progression, and now I’m showing you how to drop a top-line melody over it in a couple clicks. I walk you through the Lemonaide UI, how to pick “Melody,” set the key to D minor, hit “Get Seeds,” and then audition different ideas until you find something you like. I also show you the important part: getting the MIDI into FL the right way. You add the melody to your library first, then drag it into the Piano Roll and make sure you choose “blend with existing data” so it layers over your chords. From there I’ll transpose, move it up an octave, and do my edits in the piano roll (that’s usually my workflow). And look—tools like this save crazy time, but I’m keeping it a buck: you still gotta learn the foundation first so you’re not lost without the AI. If you’ve got BeatStars, Lemonaide can be included with your subscription (credits monthly), so link it up and get your money’s worth.
