In this FL Studio live cookup, I’m building an ambient dark future type beat from scratch and really just chasing that “this sh hard… wait what” vibe until it locks in. I start by dialing in the tempo (I’m around 148) and hunting for a pad that feels right, because the whole beat lives or dies on that atmosphere. Once the main idea is in, I talk through my usual loop approach—sometimes 4 bars, sometimes 8—depending on how complex the melody is. For this one, I’m keeping it clean because you can’t do too much sometimes or you’ll mess the whole joint up. After the foundation is set, I move into drums—open hats for texture, a snare to give it bite—and I’m listening for that heavy Future vibe. I also get into where I’ve been finding sounds lately (Reddit, Discord community packs, Vendetta kits), and how I organize everything so I’m not wasting time digging. Toward the end, I arrange the beat and explain why I like stepping away before I over-listen and burn myself out—same thing I do with mixes. Then we pivot into community mode: pulling up people’s music, feedback, and building the Discord so producers and artists can level up together.
