All right what’s good with y’all—on this one I’m breaking down the beat I made using Sample Logic ultraSPHERE (I had early access when I recorded this). The whole point of the video isn’t “how to make trap drums” or nothing like that—my drums are just regular trap drums. This is really about how I’m using ultraSPHERE to set the atmosphere and the tone of the beat fast, then building the rest around it. I start with an ultraSPHERE preset called “Centrifugal Forces” and I basically emphasize the “purple” layer because that was the part of the sound I liked the most. That became the foundation—just to set the ground and make everything feel right. After that I made my lead and counter melody in Electra, and I arranged it so the counter comes in on the drop to make it feel like a beat switch. Then at the end I play around with ShaperBox effects for some stutters/movement and throw a simple Fruity Love Filter automation to finish it off. Big takeaway: ultraSPHERE is crazy for different sounds you wouldn’t even think of, and just scrolling presets can spark mad inspiration. If you’re trying to make beats faster and still have a unique vibe, this VST is really like that.
