About This Video

Hi guys, in this video I’m reviewing the Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk Exfoliating Scalp Scrub. I bought it, tested it consistently for about a month, and I’m giving you my final thoughts now that the bottle is basically almost gone. It’s the purple one (you already know I love purple), and it’s supposed to remove buildup and rebalance your scalp without drying or stripping it. It’s made with sugar crystals and a superfood oil blend (avocado, blueberry, and marula oil), and it’s also sulfate-, silicone-, alcohol-, dye-, paraben-, and phthalate-free. I show you the texture and how I apply it both ways—directly on my scalp and on my fingertips first. The scrub dissolves super fast (like within 10 seconds), and once you start rubbing it in on wet hair it kind of feels and lathers a little like a shampoo. For me, it did a good job cleansing my scalp even though it’s not technically a shampoo, and my hair felt really nice after I followed up with my regular shampoo. My main con is I wish the exfoliating particles were a little more intense so I could really feel that “scrubbed” feeling. But for the price (around $8–$9), I do think it’s worth trying—especially if you want to start incorporating scalp exfoliation into your wash day to support healthy hair growth.
