In this video I’m reviewing the SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner and putting it to the test as a one product wash n go. I’ve been trying a mix of OG products and some new stuff for you guys, and I’m also a one to two product wash and go girl—so if a leave-in can give me moisture and hold without needing a gel, I’m going to try it. I ordered the 16oz jar from Walmart (it was around $13–$14) and I wanted to see if it could really smooth, define, and control frizz on its own. I go over what the product claims, then I talk ingredients and give my honest thoughts—like how peppermint and apple cider vinegar are listed on the front, but they’re pretty low on the ingredient list. Application-wise, I did not follow the “towel-dried” suggestion because my hair needs moisture; this worked best for me on damp-to-wet hair with extra water to activate the slip. Once I added water, my curls looked super smooth, defined, and juicy. I did finger coil a few stubborn pieces in the front, but overall my results were fluffy, light, defined, with a small hold—and no residue after it dried (which surprised me because the smoothie from this line left residue on my hair).
