In this video I’m reviewing the Curlsmith Bond Curl Rehab Salve from their Strength Recipes line. I picked it up online from Walmart because I’ve been seeing it everywhere, and even though my hair isn’t naturally weak or damaged, I’ve been slacking and keeping my hair in a bun for way too long—which definitely caused some damage. I walk you through what the product claims (it’s a lightweight intense treatment that makes your hair look stronger and more resilient), how it’s meant to be used, and what’s actually inside, like chia seeds, shiitake mushrooms, prickly pear, pumpkin seed oil, guava, and kale. Plus, yes—the purple packaging got me because purple is my color. I apply it on damp hair like the directions say, focus it mostly on my ends, and pay attention to slip and detangling. The texture is watery (almost like a creamy shampoo) and it smells super sweet—like, amazing. After letting it sit close to an hour, I rinse it out and my hair feels soft, moisturized (even though it’s not a moisture treatment), and noticeably stronger the way my hair usually feels after a protein treatment. Overall, I liked how it performed, but I’m still not 100% sure if I’d repurchase versus just grabbing another protein treatment.
