Hi Gifted Crafters! In this GCMS episode I’m taking an EQ8 quilt design and turning it into a real quilt top—one seam at a time. I already had all my fabrics pre-cut (including the sashing and cornerstones), so this video is all about the piecing process and how I like to stay organized when I’m bringing a digital layout to life. I’m using my trusty Janome straight stitch machine (Ms. Molly) and walking through the step-by-step assembly so you can see exactly how the rows come together. This quilt started as a “use what you have” project—leftover Quarter Square Triangle blocks from my Quilter’s Cottage quilt (Lori Holt) that I didn’t want to waste. I hopped into EQ8 and reimagined those scraps into a fresh layout, which is one of my favorite ways to stretch a budget and still get something beautiful.
