In this one, me and my co-Geezers Josh and Nate head out to Arlington, TX to skate one of skateboarding’s original playgrounds: the ditch. Before there were fancy, million-dollar skateparks, we had pools, ditches, streets, and loading docks—and honestly, a good ditch still scratches that same old-school itch. It’s got that snake run vibe where you can just carve, pump, and keep the flow going. I talk about why a ditch is such a solid spot for building confidence and getting your carving and pumping dialed. It’s usually out of the way and overlooked, so you’re way less likely to get kicked out—worst case, you get flipped off or mooned by a passing car, and hey… that builds character. The big takeaway: ditches aren’t manicured like a skatepark, so bring a broom and clean the rocks, leaves, and junk unless you’re trying to take a trip to slam town. And pad up—because if you don’t, you might leave more than footprints behind.
