In this video, I’m going to show you several different steps that’ll hopefully fix the problem where your iPhone is not ringing for incoming calls in 2026. I start with the quickest things to check first, because most of the time it’s just a setting that got turned on. First, I swipe down from the top right to open Control Center and make sure Focus mode isn’t set to Do Not Disturb (if the moon is white, I turn it off). If nothing is selected, then you’re good. Next, I check silent mode. On newer iPhones it’s the button on the left side that toggles ring and silent, and on older iPhones it’s the little switch. After that, I go into Settings > Sounds & Haptics and turn up Ringtone and Alerts. I also show you the “Change with Buttons” option—personally, I like turning that off so the buttons only control media volume. Finally, I cover an extra setting that can stop your phone from ringing: Settings > Apps > Phone > Filtering. If “Silence Unknown Callers” (unknown callers filtered) is enabled, your iPhone won’t ring for people not in your contacts, so I turn that off to make sure every call can ring through.
