Work capacity is the capacity to do work. Never forget that. While DOING more doesn't always result in GETTING more, the ability to get in a lot of quality sets and recover is something that is very useful. You don't have to necessarily train with higher volumes, but at least building that ability is something that a lot of people are missing in their training. If a single hard set of ten on squats gasses you out for the entire rest of the workout, you have a problem.
