In today’s Luke Bible Reading, I’m walking through Luke chapter 19—aka “the King arrives”—and it’s such a good reminder of what it looks like to respond to Jesus with real, practical obedience. This chapter is packed: Zacchaeus climbing the tree, Jesus calling him by name, and that immediate heart-change that shows up in how Zacchaeus handles his money and makes things right. I love how this ties faith to everyday life, because for me, Bible study isn’t just “read and move on”—it’s “how do I live this out in my planner, my budget, and my choices?” We also get the parable of the minas, which always challenges me to be faithful with what God has already put in my hands—time, resources, routines, and the little daily disciplines. And then we see Jesus’ triumphal entry and His heart for Jerusalem, which honestly hits deep: He’s King, but He’s also compassionate and grieved when people miss Him. My takeaway from Luke 19 is simple but convicting: I want to be the kind of person who welcomes Jesus fully, stewarding what He’s given me, and letting my life reflect that He’s truly Lord.
