We read about repentance, the narrow door and Jesus compassion as He heals on the Sabbath.
About This Video
In today’s Luke Bible Reading, I’m in Luke chapter 13 for Day 13, and we’re sitting with some really heart-checking themes: repentance, the narrow door, and Jesus’ compassion. This chapter doesn’t let me stay on the surface. It pushes me to stop assuming “bad things happen to bad people” and instead look at my own life and ask, “Am I actually turning back to God?” I also love how Jesus uses the fig tree picture to show patience and mercy—like, the Lord is not rushing to cancel us, but He is calling us to real change.
We also talk about the narrow door, and for me it’s a reminder that following Jesus isn’t just a vibe—it’s a decision. It’s not about waiting until later or assuming I’ll “get serious” someday. And then we see Jesus’ compassion so clearly when He heals on the Sabbath. Even when people are more focused on rules than people, Jesus is focused on freedom and restoration. My takeaway from Luke 13 is simple but strong: repent, keep seeking, and trust that Jesus cares deeply about healing what’s been bound up in your life.
