About This Video

In this video I’m doing a MUST SEE whole head perm transformation from start to finish. I show you how I section the head (I usually start from the back where the ear meets, then work around), clip everything down, and keep my rows consistent so the curls come out even. I break down exactly how I wrap each rod: keep the hair damp, comb it straight, use end paper (or tissue if you don’t have it), clip the ends properly, and roll up to the roots. The main takeaway is consistency—same size sections and the right tension is what gives you clean, even curls. After the rods are in, I go into the safety and setup bits I always do: vaseline around the hairline/forehead for prevention, then a folded kitchen roll “headband” to stop solution dripping. I saturate every rod with my perm solution (better to use more than not enough), cover with a cap, and leave it for an hour. Then it’s a water rinse only, perm neutraliser on every rod for 10 minutes to lock the curls in, final rinse, towel dab, and rod removal. I also show how I diffuse it for volume and why I avoid combing dry curls—use your fingers, and if you must comb, do it when it’s wet.
