About This Video

In this video I’m showing you exactly how I go for tight curls on a men’s perm, step-by-step, from the prep all the way to the aftercare. The whole goal is control and consistency—making sure the hair on top is as even as possible, getting it damp, then sectioning properly so every rod gives you the same curl pattern. I break down the wrapping process with end papers, rolling cleanly to the roots, and keeping everything secure so you don’t get loose ends or random kinks. I also run through the protection and processing side: vaseline around the hairline, a cotton/kitchen roll “bandanna” to stop drips, then fully saturating the rods with perm solution before covering and leaving it for an hour. After rinsing, I repeat the protection steps and apply neutraliser for 15 minutes to lock in the curl. The biggest takeaway is the aftercare—don’t get the hair wet for at least 2 days if you want the best results, then wash and style like normal. If you want the exact products I use or you want to book in with me, it’s all on my site.
