About This Video

In this video I’m doing one of my favourite services: a full haircut and perm transformation from start to finish. I take you through the perm process the same way I do it in the shop—clean sectioning, proper rod work, and making sure everything is saturated so the curl comes out consistent. This is the kind of transformation where the consultation matters, because you’re not just “adding curls”, you’re changing the whole look and how the hair will sit for weeks after. I break down my perm steps clearly: I make sure the top is as even as possible, dampen and comb through, then section into clean panels (around 7.5cm x 0.5cm). I use end papers, roll to the roots, protect the hairline with vaseline, and use a cotton strip/kitchen roll band to stop any solution dripping. Then it’s perm solution for an hour, rinse, neutraliser for 15 minutes, rinse again, and rods out. The biggest takeaway: don’t touch water for at least 2 days after—if you want the best results, you’ve got to let the curl set properly.
