About This Video

In this video I review the newly redesigned Beckett Simonon Maxwell Trainers (now with their new logo), and like all my reviews, I keep it short and to the point. I break down the main things most people care about before buying premium leather sneakers: build quality, comfort, sizing, design, and whether the value is actually there. I also run through the color options—White Graphite White, White Bordeaux White, White Graphite Gum, and White Bordeaux Gum—plus what you can expect right out of the box with the premium packaging. From a materials standpoint, these are built with full grain leather that should age nicely over time, paired with water-repellent suede that feels soft but still sturdy. I talk about the rubber sole traction, the leather-lined insoles, and the fact that—like a lot of full grain leather sneakers—there’s a short break-in period because they start off a bit stiff. My biggest “downside” is the made-to-order process: mine took about a month to arrive, so if you need sneakers immediately, that’s something to keep in mind. Overall, if you’re patient, I think the craftsmanship, materials, and clean-but-stylish design justify the higher price.
