About This Video

In this video I’m reviewing the Away Everywhere Bag and breaking down whether it’s actually a better option than traveling with a backpack. I go over the basics first—color options (I have the Coast color), the optional three-letter customization on the front and back, and the key specs: 16.3 x 10.2 x 7.3 inches, 20L capacity, and 2.75 lbs with the shoulder strap (2.25 lbs without). The body is water-resistant nylon with leather on the handle and shoulder strap, so it’s built to handle real everyday use. I also walk through the layout and storage, because that’s what makes or breaks a bag like this. You get a trolley sleeve to ride on a suitcase handle, a zip laptop compartment that fits up to a 15-inch laptop, and another exterior zip pocket that blends in so well it can double as a “security pocket” for things like a wallet or passport. Inside, there’s a detachable key clip, a roomy zip pocket, multiple slip pockets for quick-grab items, a larger slip pocket, and a mesh water bottle holder. My overall take: Away did a good job on build quality and kept the design minimal and unibody, which I personally like. It works as a personal item for flights, but it’s also a solid everyday office or gym bag. If you want an alternative to a backpack and you already like Away’s quality, this is an easy one to consider.
