About This Video

In this video, I’m taking you along for one of those “how are we doing this?” Disney days—disembarking the Disney Magic and then heading straight to Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Magic Kingdom the same day. We start with last-day breakfast on the ship (yes, the standard Disney Cruise Line menu), wait for our luggage tag group to be called (we were Blue Donald), and then it’s time for the emotional goodbye. I always get choked up getting off the ship… and honestly I was also counting down to seeing my dog, Slinky, back home. Once we get to the Polynesian (we arrived around 10:45), we do the whole check-in juggle, change the kids, and head to ‘Ohana for breakfast—Stitch waffles, Mickey waffles, POG juice, and the Ohana Aloha character celebration. After that, our room ended up being ready around 1:00, and we got so lucky because I did not want to be hauling bags around all day. We squeezed in some pool time with friends (Ashley from Pixie Dusted Mom!), then headed to Magic Kingdom for quick service at Pinocchio Village Haus, the nighttime parade, and Small World. My biggest takeaway: a same-day cruise-to-park day is totally doable with kids if you keep expectations realistic, plan food and stroller logistics, and build in little breaks. And if you can watch fireworks from a theme park view room? That’s a top-tier Disney moment.
