Good morning, everybody—this mini vlog is basically me trying to survive this heat. I don’t even know if it’s officially summertime yet, but it feels like it with temps in the 90s plus humidity. So first things first: coffee time, a quick run for some Fun Pops (I freeze them and they cool me off fast), and I made sure to grab water because I always try to keep a stock on hand. Then I finally get around to installing my AC unit, because it’s just too hot not to have it. I show you how I DIY’d a window frame out of random chunks of wood since my window’s aluminum frame is old and not strong. I used my rolling desk to support the unit so I didn’t have to hold it while lining everything up, and after a lot of tinkering and screwing things together, it cleared the window seal. It may not look the best from the outside, but the moment of truth is it works—blowing nice, cool air. Sometimes low income living means you do what you have to do, and you make it work with what you’ve got.
