In this video I’m finally getting my spare bedroom organized—the one that’s supposed to be my guest room slash office slash arts and crafts room, but honestly it’s been a straight-up storage room. I’ve been putting it off because it’s been way too hot here (triple digits and humid) and I don’t have central heat and air—just two window units, one in my bedroom and one in the living room. Now that it’s cooled down to the low 80s, I’m taking advantage and tackling it little by little. I talk through my thought process on switching rooms because one faces west and the other faces east, and the heat hits different depending on the season. But for now I’m staying put and focusing on organizing what I already have. I basically threw everything in that spare room when I moved—extra kitchen gadgets, off-grid and solar stuff, and collaboration gear—so it was time. By the end, I show my stopping point and where I’m storing things like my solar panels, trifold mattress, a 12V compressor fridge/freezer, and extra blankets. It’s not perfection—it’s progress, and that’s what keeps it realistic for low income living.
