Good morning, y’all—this vlog is me taking you inside my new place and showing you what I’ve already started doing to get it livable. Before I even move in, I’m focusing on bugs and little “house stuff” that adds up fast when you’re living low income. I dusted diatomaceous earth (that white powder you’ll see everywhere) along the borders, floors, and every crevice I could find, and I’ve been spraying for ants, roaches, and spiders too. I also threw up makeshift curtains in every window for a little privacy while I work. I’m keeping it real: it’s a whole work in progress. There’s trim that needs replacing, gaps that need filling (I’m planning to use spray foam—one for windows/doors and one for larger gaps), and some electrical spots that need covers. The bathroom has a stopper issue where the water keeps trickling, and under the kitchen sink needs a back panel because there’s an open area back there. They removed the wall furnace, so for winter I’m planning to use a couple space heaters for now. I also priced lawnmowers at Walmart and Home Depot (military discount helps), survived a 93° day with AC and icy water, and ended the day at Dollar Tree with word search and sudoku in the nice cold air. My goal is to be moved in by the end of the month—praying everything goes smooth.
