In this vlog, I’m out here in this 100° heat (with the AC cranked to 77 because whew… it’s too hot not to) and I’m doing what I’ve been doing lately—looking for another part-time job. I’m trying to find something with a nice, mellow environment… no hustle and bustle. And yes, a lot of places want you to apply online, but I still love those more “old school” spots where you can fill out an application, talk to someone face-to-face, and let them get a vibe for your personality right then and there. I ended up finding a really nice Christian bookstore and I loved the atmosphere. They weren’t hiring at the moment, but they told me I’d be one of the first people they call when they are. The cool part is they also have sections for local artists—handmade items, crafts, shirts, soaps, lotions, all that kind of Etsy-style stuff. That got me thinking about collabing with my daughter Cory and trying to sell our own crafty things there, and if it takes off, maybe even expanding later. I also took a little time to walk Hobby Lobby for inspiration because I’m wanting to get more artsy/craftsy and see what I can DIY next.
