About This Video

It is not hard to find an overpriced Razer product, and in this video I went out of my way to pay an absolutely unhinged 380 Canadian dollars for Razer’s 240mm Hanbo AIO, just to see how they try to justify that kind of MSRP. On the outside you get the usual Razer vibes: really nice packaging, lots of “ultimate design” marketing, Chroma/Synapse support (which in my experience is a bit urinary-tract-infection-y), and a magnetic pump cap that definitely doesn’t scream “worth it.” Once I actually got my hands on it, it quickly started looking like a re-skinned Asetek design from 2021… which is fine, but there are loads of AIOs based on that same platform for way less money. Then I tested it on an i7-13700K and compared it to a dirt-cheap Thermalright 240mm AIO that costs about 63 Canadian dollars. After locking the CPU to a still-spicy 140W load, the Razer ran about 4°C hotter in AIDA64 and also lost in gaming temps. I even swapped the stock “frameless” Kunai fans for Noctua NF-A12s (and had to steal screws from the cheap cooler, which is hilarious), and while it got way quieter, performance only improved by about 2°C. The takeaway is pretty simple: at anything close to that price, this Razer AIO makes zero sense—unless you’re laundering money.
