Unstoppable mesh. Build your own unstoppable network today. Full implementation guide: 👉 https://buildwithparallel.com/products/rnode-build-guide In this video, I build a Reticulum RNode and prove that completely different radios — LoRa and Wi-Fi — can communicate through a hardware-agnostic networking stack. Reticulum routes traffic above the radio layer, automatically bridging dissimilar frequencies, interfaces, and modulation types. I then run it over Wi-Fi HaLow Haven nodes to create a long-range, encrypted IP mesh with no traditional infrastructure. Finally, I push it further by running ATAK across the network, demonstrating a fully open-source, decentralized communication stack in action. About This Video

In this video I try to break your mental model of what “the internet” is. I put two devices on totally different radios—one on 915 MHz LoRa with no Wi‑Fi, and one on plain Wi‑Fi with no long-range radio—and I still get them to communicate. The reason it works is Reticulum: it routes above the radio layer, so Wi‑Fi, LoRa, Ethernet, serial… they’re just interfaces. Once you stop treating the transport as the network, you can bridge dissimilar frequencies and modulation like it’s nothing—as long as there’s a node in the middle with both interfaces. I build a Reticulum RNode from scratch (T‑Beam LoRa board, OLED, NeoPixel, 3D printed case, and a very serious-looking antenna), then I prove three cases: Wi‑Fi to Wi‑Fi, LoRa to LoRa, and the fun one—LoRa to Wi‑Fi using an automatic bridge node. From there I go slightly ridiculous: I install Reticulum on my Haven nodes and run it over Wi‑Fi HaLow (802.11ah) on 915 MHz to create a long-range, encrypted IP mesh that doesn’t depend on traditional infrastructure. Finally, I push it into “this shouldn’t work” territory by running ATAK over that Reticulum+HaLow mesh. Reticulum compresses and fragments the traffic to fit its MTU, reassembles it on the other side, and keeps it encrypted end-to-end. That’s the direction I care about: open, autonomous, sovereign comms that we don’t rent—we actually own.
