In this video I unbox and test the KYY K5 4K portable monitor (15.6”) and break down what you actually get in the box—power brick, USB-C to USB-C, USB-A to USB-C, and a mini HDMI to HDMI cable (thankfully, because the monitor uses mini HDMI). I also go over the main specs that matter: 4K UHD (3840x2160) at 60Hz, IPS panel, HDR mode, 17 million colors, and a crazy-bright 400 nits. Plus you’ve got a matte screen (way less reflections), dual USB-C ports, a 3.5mm jack, and dual built-in speakers. Then I put it to the test with real devices: my ROG Ally, Xbox, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The ROG Ally looked great, but it can’t really push 4K in Doom (VRAM limits), so I dropped it to 1440p and kept it moving. On Xbox and PS5, 4K/60 works and the colors/dark tones look clean, with solid viewing angles. And yes—Switch 2 works, but you need the docking station (it didn’t work for me handheld). Bottom line: it looks amazing, but at $349.99 you’ve gotta decide if that portability and picture quality is worth the price tag—especially if your kids hog every TV in the house.
