The NEXT Gen Mobile Controller! | OhSnap! MCON Mobile Controller Review #gaming #mobile #mobilegaming The MCON by @ohsnapofficial has to be the most portable mobile controller I have tried out to date. The grips fold in and the phone's rest slides up to begin gaming and slides down to protect the mobile controllers joysticks and buttons. The joysticks are GameSir Mag-Res and feature anti-drift technology. The triggers can go from analog to digital real quick and they are built with hall-effect tech in mind. You connect the MCON via bluetooth and the battery can last up to 9 hours with continuous playing. This controller is light weight and small enough to not take up a lot of space in your backpack or pocket. I carried it with me for a few days when i went out and it felt if I was just carrying another phone. You are also able to connect up to 3 different devices which you can switch to each one on the fly. You can connect it wirelessly in 4 different modes such as X-Input (Default), DS4, NS and D-Input. Wired mode it is compatible with iOS, Android, Windows and Mac. you can also connect it via 2.4GHz using either the Dock or the Keycast. Let me know if you already own an MCON and/or what do you think of it? What is your go to mobile gaming controller? About This Video

In this video I put the OhSnap! MCON to the test, because I keep getting asked about a “next gen” mobile controller that’s actually portable and doesn’t feel like a whole backpack commitment. The MCON is a magnetic transforming controller—your phone snaps on, the back plate slides up to game, and slides down to protect the sticks and buttons when you’re done. It’s Bluetooth (no USB-C/Lightning for direct phone connection), it’s got GameSir Mag-Res anti-drift sticks, hall-effect analog triggers that can switch to digital, gyro support, and it’s built to be moddable/upgradeable and repairable to a certain extent. I also show the little details most people skip—like how to swap modes (X-Input, DS4, NS, D-Input), how to toggle trigger behavior, dead zones, gyro mapping, and even LED brightness. Then I tested it across devices: it worked on my iPhone (Call of Duty Mobile worked), it connected to my Android (NBA 2K worked, but I couldn’t get COD Mobile to detect it even in DS4 mode), and it worked on my PC through Steam. I also paired it to my Nintendo Switch 2 in NS mode and it worked there too. My takeaway: the concept is super cool and it’s easily the most portable controller I’ve tried, but it’s not perfect. With big hands, the Joy-Con style sticks sitting down inside those cutouts can get annoying because my thumbs rub the edges. Price is $149.99 (I saw it on sale for $129.99), so you really have to decide if portability and the magnetic “transforming” design are worth it for your setup.
