What is going on? Homestead-Miami, it’s go time and it’s showtime for Race 27/29 in the DLBTV Racing League. I came into this one pumped because Homestead is a track I genuinely enjoy running, and I’ve won here before in fixed. My whole mindset was simple: 100 laps, halfway yellow, keep my head screwed on straight from start to finish, and don’t get baited into doing anything stupid early. I also said it straight up—practice speed at Miami doesn’t mean a lot, so I wasn’t stressing the board as much as I was focusing on race pace and being smart. In this race I leaned hard into the bottom groove because that’s where the speed was for me, even if it wasn’t exactly saving tire. The aggression level got turned up quick, we got early yellows, and I had to manage restarts, pit road, and tire falloff while trying to keep it off the wall. I worked up front, found a rhythm, and then I made the mistake—got loose, overcorrected, and stacked up damage that forced me into repair mode and strategy calls (no tires vs. damage time) just to stay in it. The takeaway is the same as always: survive, learn, and adapt—because iRacing changes all the time, and you never stop learning.
