About This Video

I’ve been waiting a long time for a real upgrade to the original iFi GoPods—because I’ve used them, genuinely, every single morning for years (2.5 hours a day minimum). In this video I put the full Go Pod family head-to-head: Go Pod Air (the cheaper, more rugged option), the original GoPods, and the new Go Pod Max. I unbox the Max, go through what’s changed, and explain why this isn’t just “more features”—it’s a meaningful sonic step up if you’re running serious IEMs. The Go Pod Max brings the stuff that actually matters for summit-tier portable use: a deeper case that finally accommodates larger IEMs properly, USB-C plus wireless charging, UV sterilisation in the case, IPX5 for training/rain, and a much more ergonomic hook design. It also auto-detects impedance/sensitivity (16/32/64 up to 5V at 300Ω), and it’s built around the QCC5181 with aptX Lossless support. But the core takeaway is sound: Max is cleaner, more resolving, bigger stage, and—most importantly—more weight and authority. With hard-to-drive flagships like my Letshuoer Cadenza 12, it’s the closest “dongle-form” experience I’ve heard to something like the iFi Diablo. It’s expensive and the case is big, but if you’re running multi-thousand IEMs and want to ditch wires without settling, this is the one.
