About This Video

Abyss are back with another Diana, and this one matters. In this video I go through the Diana story from the V2 (the one that introduced me to Abyss about four years ago) through the later releases, and then I focus on where the Diana MR actually sits: it’s essentially the spiritual successor to the V2 in tuning, but with the stuff that held the V2 back fixed—namely drivability, comfort, and overall usability. I cover the build, the magnetically attached pads (thank you for improving the magnet—no more prying), the tiny/light chassis, the stand, the cables, and why this is genuinely a “use it anywhere” open-back. Then I get into what I really care about: how it sounds and how it scales. The Diana MR gives me that “moonlight” neutral-dark, smooth, textured, tactile presentation with a melodic midrange and non-fatiguing treble. On big rigs like my WA33 JPS Elite chain it opens up with more depth and a more expansive feel, but the headline is that it still works on portable gear—yes, a Mojo 2 can drive it. With suede pads it leans even harder into that romantic, twilight-by-moonlight tonality, and that’s why it became my daily driver for months. Bottom line: it’s one of my “perfect headphones” and it earns a spot on my Wall of Fame.
