About This Video

Dynamics still have a special place in my heart, and in this video I’m looking at a headphone that genuinely surprised me: the Erzetic (Öz) Mania. At roughly €1,700, it’s positioned as a potential rival to a lot of the usual summit-fi dynamic suspects we all talk about—Focal and ZMF included—at well under half the price of some of those flagships. I cover the backstory, the unboxing, and yes… the accessories are a bit of a mixed bag (that stock cable is the weakest link here, and I barely used it). Where the Mania really earns its keep is the sound. I’ve put around 400 hours on it and ran it mostly from the Audma HPA1 Maestro (plus Mojo 2 for portable), and it scales beautifully. The tuning lands in that neutral-dark lane I love: non-fatiguing, holographic staging, and a midrange that’s lush and “real.” Technical performance is right up there with the ZMF Vérité Open for me, with detail retrieval that exceeds Atrium—at half the cost—while staying close in overall timbre. My main gripe is sub-bass: it digs low but doesn’t quite give me that sub-30Hz visceral hit for things like church organs and double bass. Still, as a sub-$2,500 dynamic, this is my gold standard and a top contender for dynamics headphone of the year.
